By now temperatures are reaching 80’s, 90’s and even 100’s. If you are not watering at least 5-7 times a week, now would be a good time to start. Plants are doing a lot of growing and need a lot of water, depending on their size. With a lot of watering comes fertilizing. Usually annual and perennials need more fertilizer while they are growing and blooming. Trees and shrubs fertilize early spring (March) and then again late spring (first of June). Vegetables should be fertilized good while they are growing and getting their roots established. When they reach the size to start producing be careful not to over fertilize. When we over fertilize the veggies they just grow and grow and don’t produce those veggies we have worked so hard to enjoy.
